Market Entry Research Assistant – Africa
Help us decide where and how Ancillarate grows across Africa
Remote · Africa or Europe · Part-time or freelance · project-based
Why this role
- Ancillarate already works with African airlines and partners, from airport transfers to safari lodges. We want to grow there with focus, not guesswork.
- You turn scattered market knowledge into clear country briefs our founders and sales team can act on.
What you'll do
- Map airlines, hotel groups, tour operators and travel platforms per country (e.g. South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Morocco): size, routes, digital maturity, decision-makers.
- Find local service partners travellers need after booking: transfers, eSIMs, tours, lodges, parking, lounges.
- Research payment and booking habits, incl. mobile money, and what that means for post-booking offers.
- Look at regulation, data protection and partner models that matter for a market entry.
- Write short, structured country briefs and keep them up to date in our workspace.
What you bring
- A background in business, economics, tourism or similar; studying is fine.
- Curiosity about African travel and aviation, ideally first-hand knowledge of at least one market.
- Clear, structured writing in English. Swahili, French, Portuguese or Arabic is a plus.
- Comfort with desk research, numbers and talking to people on the ground.
